Some injector's when getting plugged will offer an engine knock that could sound like a rod is about to come through the block. You didn't say how this happens or how long you need to run it to make it happen or at the rpm. We do need more info! ....

Hi Art, Hi Oneace,
Well it happens when they are using a blower hooked to the pto,Knowing them it's running at full throttle,he ran it for 4 hrs. before it started to act up. when I changed the fuel filter I noticed a lot of black debri in the filter,it was just changed 1 month earlier,i did drain the tank and it was clean,I took it out,and it ran fine but not that long of time or that high rpm, should i try a good injector cleaner! I hope this info helps thanks again ....

The black debris is more than likely algae. Get some fuel treatment that has algaecide and injector cleaner. ....

I think Ace is on the right track, if the engine was about to grenade the knock wouldn't take 4 hours at full throttle to show up.

If the filter was really dirty it's possible (likely?) that some crap got past it already. It may require the pump & injectors to come out be thoroughly cleaned.

Best of luck. ....

I would not go taking the injection pump apart or even off the engine your self. there are very specific timing procedures that need to be followed before the pump is removed or disassembled. ....
